To meet the growing demand for Amazon Web Services globally, the AWS Global Time Management Team (GTX) is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) who enjoys the challenge of diving into complex business problems, providing data driven insights, and making recommendations that directly impact business. The BIA will use broad technical skills to build analytic and reporting capabilities, helping to de-risk and accelerate the growth of AWS. The BIA will work closely peers, partners, business leaders, data scientist and data engineers to drive solutions that provide insight into time at and away from work for AWS.

The ideal candidate has experience building and delivering analytic strategies in a large, matrix organization. They will be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment and have experience defining and then solving complex business problems

Key job responsibilities

  • Deliver analysis support to improve the employee and manager experience for time capture and management.
  • Dive deep to create insights on how well AWS is taking care of its employee as it relates to time compliance and perfect pay.
  • Drive business changes through data insights to improve a wide range of policies, practices and solutions.
  • Invent new ways to analyze data to identify the trends and gaps in customer experience and compliance related to time at and away from work.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to build centralized tools that will allow for rapid detection of time patterns and compliance risk.

  • Use business analyses to propose innovative business initiatives to senior management/executives.
  • Analyze and synthesize large data streams across multiple inputs.
  • Find and create ways to measure the employee experience to drive business outcomes.
  • Curious to identify patterns in data and how they relate to the business outcomes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years' experience as a Data / Business Analyst/ Business Intelligence
  • Proficiency with data querying or modeling technique with SQL
  • Experience with automated self-service reporting tools
  • Confidence in dealing with technical and non-technical senior level staff
  • Ability to operate successfully and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and curious to learn new skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Math, Operations Research, Statistics or related discipline
  • Experience working with cloud data repository services such as AWS redshift
  • Experience and ability to effectively gather information from multiple data sources
  • Knowledge and direct experience using business intelligence reporting tools such as Tableau
  • Skilled at data visualization and presentation
  • Superior SQL
