Job summary

AWS is seeking a motivated and data-driven Services Procurement Associate to support the EMEA supplier sourcing and onboarding team. The candidate should have strong supply chain and procurement skills, supplier management experience, analytical and financial acumen, communication capabilities and a hands-on passion to dive-deep into processes used in our data center operations network.

As a Supplier Sourcing Manager, you will support the internal business owners to identify and onboard suppliers across EMEA and collaborate with internal business partners and suppliers to reduce supplier risk for AWS. In this role, you will learn how we identify and vet suppliers and qualify vendors capable of delivering high quality services for our internal business users.

You will develop mechanisms and processes ensure that the sourcing and onboarding processes are efficient, lean and appropriate. You will also support global Procurement processes and tools to drive innovation across teams.

The ideal candidate thinks long term, drives multiple initiatives, and communicates appropriately and influences customers and suppliers at all levels. You must be collaborative, but also work with significant autonomy. Also, you must have a demonstrated track record of supplier sourcing, managing multiple projects and driving them to completion to meet business objectives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Identification of potential new suppliers partners
  • understand business development demand, including supplier capability gap identification, industry supplier landscape scanning, supplier selection capability assessment and execution.
  • Drive for continual improvement and innovation in our supplier sourcing and onboarding processes.
  • Track new supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tools and productivity.
  • Manage a ticketing system for requests from customers for new suppliers
  • Carry out supplier data administration in our supplier database
  • Analyse supplier data and metrics to drive Procurement category strategies
  • Understand trends in customers’ needs and concerns, across categories and regions, to influence customers’ priorities
  • Lead supplier selection process across multiple categories, internal teams, and regions, and create longer-term supplier selection strategies for management
  • Ensure you are knowledgeable about the supply market and supplier capabilities, technically and geographically
  • Innovate within the supplier sourcing space, automating and/or improving tools or processes to better support the supplier Life-cycle
  • Provide support throughout the contracting process, as well as management of contracts post-execution.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Procurement organization performing vendor sourcing, contract management, negotiating complex purchases, and bidding
  • Strong business judgement, instincts, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to overcome obstacles and deliver results

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and concepts
  • fluent English written and verbal communication
  • Proficient written and verbal communication in another European language
