As a Business Intelligence Engineer within AWS, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape and deliver strategies to build mind sharing and drive the adoption of the AWS cloud computing platform. Your responsibilities will include supporting the Specialist team by tracking and analyzing metrics to help guide decision making and enabling the sales teams. You will also work closely with various teams, such as sales and marketing teams, and help them drive revenue by providing insight backed by quantitative analysis.

The ideal candidate will possess a business background that enables them to shape the systems and mechanisms for researching, analyzing, and reporting business development activity. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, act independently, with the ability to work cross-organizationally.

Key job responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the Business Intelligence team in helping to drive the overall AWS business by applying business analysis skills.
  • Provide quantitative analysis with various teams and guide decision making and improve revenue.
  • Develop a robust and efficient reporting scheme for various metrics.
  • Develop sales/marketing automation mechanisms that are scalable and maintainable.
  • Develop and maintain systems and mechanisms to drive the activities.
  • Support the broader business development activity, including working with various internal stakeholders, targeting specific market segments, drive campaigns and targeted events, etc.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer within AWS, you have an exciting opportunity to build mind-sharing and develop and deliver strategies to drive AWS adoption. Your responsibilities include assisting the specialist team by tracking and analyzing metrics that help guide decision making and enable the sales team. We also work closely with various teams, such as sales and marketing, to provide insights backed by quantitative analysis to help drive revenue.

The ideal candidate should have a business background capable of forming systems and mechanisms for researching, analyzing and reporting business development activities. We are also looking for someone who has the ability to think strategically and analytically about the business, act independently, and work across organizational boundaries.

  • As a key member of the Business Intelligence team, applying business analysis skills to help drive the overall AWS business.
  • Provide quantitative analysis to various teams to guide decision making and improve profitability.
  • Developed a robust and efficient reporting scheme for various indicators.
  • Developed a scalable and maintainable sales/marketing operations automation mechanism.
  • Develop and operate systems and mechanisms to promote activities.
  • Support broader business development activities such as working with various internal stakeholders, targeting specific market segments, driving campaigns and targeting events.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • The right person will be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete information.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must.
  • Have demonstrable experience in developing and maintaining systems needed for practical business analysis and problem solving.
  • Demonstrable ability to build systems and mechanisms with scalability and sustainability.
  • Experience with software development including the consideration of software lifecycles.
  • Fluency in SQL and development experience with Python or similar scripting languages. 3+ years of experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of data security and engineering to build and maintain ETL pipelines for data platform.
  • Business level communication skills in both Japanese and English.
  • Ability to act independently and carry out ambiguous projects with incomplete information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining systems required for practical business analysis and problem solving.
  • Ability to build systems and mechanisms with scalability and sustainability.
  • Software development experience, including software life cycle considerations.
  • Familiarity with SQL and development experience with Python or similar scripting languages. 3+ years of experience preferred.
  • Data security and engineering knowledge of data platform ETL pipeline construction and operations.
  • Business level communication skills in Japanese and English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Statistics, Economics or other technical/quantitative fields. Advanced degrees.
  • Experience with large data sets and distributed computing systems.
  • Ability to build and manage models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving is desirable.
  • Experience in leading projects involving multiple business stakeholders.
  • Experience with analytical skills in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. 5+ years of sales support, business operations, business development, or management consulting experience is desirable.
  • Experience in applying quantitative analysis (such as machine learning, marketing science, operations research, econometrics etc.) into practical business problems.
  • Experience in driving Business Intelligence in the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, statistics, economics, or other technical/quantitative discipline. Or a higher degree.

  • Experience with large datasets and distributed computing systems.
  • Ability to build and manage models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving.
  • Experience leading projects involving multiple business stakeholders.
  • Experience with analytical skills in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. 5+ years of sales support, operations, business development or management consulting experience preferred.
  • Experience applying quantitative analysis (machine learning, marketing science, operations research, econometrics, etc.) to real business problems. Experience driving Business Intelligence in an organization.
