Job Description

Job summary

Do you want to build a security platform that provides a data-driven experience for AWS engineers and raises the security bar for AWS customers? At Amazon Web Services (AWS), security is our highest priority and the Security team is responsible for the security of services offered by AWS. The Secure all the Things (SAT2) team is responsible for driving innovative enhancements that raise the bar for how employees interact with resources, systems, and data. At scale, we must invent new security tools to enable system administrators and developers to build rapidly, while maintaining least privileged access. We are looking for an engineer that will automate all business metrics, analyze all aspects of our business, and provide recommendations that directly affect AWS SAT2 priorities.

We expect that you are as passionate about finding and prioritizing areas of improvement that keep our customers safe as we are. As the subject matter expert, you own the automation of the authoritative datasets that facilitate business analysis and track business performance. You have a track record of using those datasets and insights to work directly with business and product teams to drive change within your business. You can work directly with business owners and program managers to translate ambiguous situations into technical implementations that deliver business recommendations that exceed the expectation of your business partners. You understand that automation is key to your success and constantly find techniques to ensure automation and derived datasets are a feature of all your data activities. However, you recognize that there is a balance between the construction of new insights versus delivering automation for others to construct new insights. Delivering tools that your team can use to perform analysis and replicate findings, allows you to scale business analysis to subject matter experts and expedites your ability to continuously deliver automated metrics and insights. We want you because you have a relentlessly high bar when solving hard data-driven problems at scale and relish the opportunity to challenge the norm.

Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. We have innovative benefit offerings, and we host annual and ongoing learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences. Amazon’s culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 14 Leadership Principles, which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.

Our team also puts a high value on work-life balance. Striking a healthy balance between your personal and professional life is crucial to your happiness and success here, which is why we aren’t focused on how many hours you spend at work or online. Instead, we’re happy to offer a flexible schedule so you can have a more productive and well-balanced life—both in and outside of work.
