In combination with other AWS services, these core DW tools allow customers to extract the maximum business value from their operational and transactional data.

We are looking for a Data Architect, who will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for helping AWS Professional Services (ProServe) leverage the analytics services on AWS to solve their data warehouse needs. This role will specifically focus on data warehousing and data warehouse modernization. The role is to help ProServe to eliminate technical and economic constraints from their legacy operational data store and help them to leverage their data to develop business insights. The candidate will focus on customer solutions such as data warehousing, data governance, business intelligence and advanced analytics, as well as helping customers to define, develop and implement the data architecture for enterprise data.

Key job responsibilities

  • Architect, implement and maintain robust enterprise level data warehouse, data lake
  • Develop an architecture to deploy machine learning models
  • Develop and optimize data tables using best practices for partitioning, compression, parallelization, etc.
  • Build robust and scalable data integration (ETL/ELT) pipelines using SQL, Python and AWS services such as Data Pipelines, Glue, Lambda, S3, Athena, Redshift
  • Implement data structures using best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes
  • Establish the roadmap for enterprise data governance based upon strategic business objectives, existing capabilities, cultural considerations and a general understanding of emerging technologies and governance models.
  • Interface with business customers, gathering requirements and architect complete reporting solutions
  • Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers
  • Work closely with business owners, analysts, Business Intelligence Engineers to explore new data sources and deliver the data for decision making

This role's primary focus is working with analysts and business leaders across the world to improve the data infrastructure that leads to better decision making. This role will meet with customers, understand their data needs, and work backwards to develop new data capabilities as the organization scales.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, or 7+ of relevant work experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
  • 5+ years Hands-on experience in the design, development and deployment of enterprise data lakes or traditional data warehouse at scale
  • Hands on experience in data warehousing design, tuning and ETL/ELT process development
  • Knowledge of data landscape including the DWH/Spark/Hadoop Ecosystem
  • Extensive experience leading in large-scale global data warehousing, analytics full-cycle data lake projects
  • Experience with SQL and scripting (bash, perl, scala or python) ability
  • Experience leading enterprise data strategies including data governance, data warehouse, BI architecture
  • Hands on experience in leading large-scale enterprise data warehousing (EDW) projects

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • An advanced degree in computer science, MIS, engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in a Chief Architect role or similar with AWS Certification, e.g. AWS Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Associate/Professional
  • Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry including NoSQL storage, Data Lake design, BI reporting and Dashboard development
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to manage numerous, competing demands from internal and external stakeholders and Customers
  • Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges of data analytics in an enterprise environment
  • Ability to communicate complex topics to an audience with various functional knowledge
  • Demonstrated industry leadership in the fields of Data Warehousing, Data Science and Big Data related technologies
