Do you have a desire to make a major contribution to the future in the rapid growth environment of Cloud Computing? Amazon Web Services is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to help build a scalable, predictive, and prescriptive business analytics platform that supports the AWS Infrastructure Supply Chain and Procurement (ISCaP) organization. You will be part of the ISCaP Program Management team working with Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and other partner teams to achieve our goals.

You will have a passion to dive deep from the customer focus and deliver a track record in process improvement and automation. This role requires an individual with excellent knowledge of business intelligence solutions and abilities in analytics, requirements gathering, mining large diverse data sets, and data visualization. Data-driven decision-making is at the core of Amazon’s culture. You will own building solutions and generating insights that enable senior leaders to make critical business decisions. You will be primarily using but not limited to AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, Data Pipelines (Hammerstone), Athena, and reporting tools such as Tableau and Alteryx to implement BI solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement scalable and reliable analytics, tools, KPI dashboards, and metrics that drive key supply chain, procurement, engineering, and financial decisions
  • Design and implement metrics dashboards to deepen understanding of cost structures, capital spend, and variances highlighting opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and other partner teams to capture requirements and deliver analytics solutions
  • Develop and implement analytics to continually improve continuity of supply and operational efficiencies
  • Apply automation so that with every iteration on a problem, you build your solution to have maximum scale and self-service ability by stakeholders
  • Understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use
  • Recognize and use advanced analytical techniques to recommend prescribed/ optimized courses of action to users
  • Interface with Data Engineers and Business Analysts to deliver complete BI solutions
  • Employ data mining, segmentation, and other analytical techniques to capture important trends in the supply chain, cost, and customer base
  • Participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions to interface with business customers, gathering requirements and delivering complete reporting solutions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, finance, or a similar quantitative field
  • 3+ years experience in Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field with proven quantitative results
  • 3+ years of experience using data warehouse solutions and databases (using tools such as SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveSQL, SparkSQL, Scala, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience using business intelligence reporting tools (such as Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, Business Objects, QlikView, Quicksight, MicoStrategy, etc.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, finance, or a similar quantitative field
  • 5+ years experience in Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field with proven quantitative results
  • Advanced experience using data warehouse solutions and databases (using tools such as SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveSQL, SparkSQL, Scala, etc.)
  • Advanced experience using business intelligence reporting tools (such as Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, Business Objects, QlikView, Quicksight, MicoStrategy, etc.)
  • Advanced experience working with business system requirements and building solutions
  • Advanced experience with at least one programming language (such as Python, R, Java, C++, etc.)
  • Experience with AWS technologies AWS solution stacks like Redshift, S3, Data Pipelines (Hammerstone), and Athena
  • Experience installing and configuring Tableau Server
  • Experience using Alteryx Designer and Alteryx Server
  • Experience in Operations, Supply Chain, or Procurement
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and global supply chains
  • Strong financial acumen and analytics skills with a high degree of proficiency in data mining
  • Strong controllership focus
