The Opportunity

The Asia Pacific Commercial Excellence Team at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking an exceptional Data Foundation lead who is deeply enthusiastic about making data trusted, understood, and accurate, and ensuring that data is used in a meaningful, secure, and consistent manner throughout the organization.

As one of the leads in the Asia Pacific Region’s data science center of excellence (CoE) and reporting to the head of data science CoE, you will leverage your experience and expertise in data foundation and data governance to define a holistic data governance strategy and execution plan for Asia Pacific markets. You will lead a team of data stewards who will work on continual improvement of data governance frameworks such as data quality, data catalog, MDM etc. Your ability to lead and establish data governance processes, influence stakeholders on expectations and drive continual improvement in data governance will be paramount to your success in this role. Specifically, you will:

  • Work across the broader company to develop and drive long-term data management strategy.
  • Set up regional business processes and clear RACI for data governance, data catalog and data quality management, master data management and data acquisition.
  • Establish, track and drive continual improvement in the data foundation metrics.
  • Ensure that all master data processes meet J&J information security and compliance standards.
  • Communicate data governance strategy to senior leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Be an advocate for data governance and create awareness on data governance across the organization.
  • Be a strong people leader and develop the team’s capability continually.

You need to be passionate about laying down a robust data foundation and data governance strategy and establish necessary business processes & software systems to support the strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • 6 years of experience in data governance/ data foundation area
  • Good understanding of data governance processes and framework
  • Have a solid understanding of data quality/ data catalog management and MDM principles and methodologies.
  • Have a good understanding of data structures and data modelling.
  • Ability to work with a cross-functional team and lead through influence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading a team.
  • Experience in data analytics or data engineering
  • Good Knowledge of tools such as Collibra and Pimcore.
  • Basic knowledge of tools such as Dataiku, SQL, Python, Tableau/Power BI.
  • Experience in the commercial pharmaceuticals business.
  • Understanding of applicable healthcare and nonhealthcare data sets relevant to the ASPAC region.
