This outstanding leader and data scientist will partner with the VP Neuroscience Data Science to craft the Real World Evidence strategy for Neuropsychiatric and Neurodegenerative disease areas. Envisioning the future, you will drive the strategy and guide teams towards exploration and incorporation of new methodologies into clinical development, partnering with internal and external cross-functional talent.

This role requires meaningful experience in pharmaceutical drug development and knowledge of sophisticated analytics, bringing to bear diverse data domains and using artificial intelligence and machine learning to optimize programs across development. This includes novel uses of real-world data and evidence to shape regulatory and payer discussions, and drive efficiencies in clinical programs. This role will report to the VP, Neuroscience Data Science and Digital Health in the Janssen R&D Data Science organization.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will lead the Neuroscience Data Science RWD team, with responsibility for setting the strategy, prioritization and execution of data science and digital health opportunities for phase 2-3 programs. This will be achieved by leading internal and external talent to integrate novel approaches in support of precision medicine development. The ability to partner externally to bolster evidence generation strategies supporting our portfolio will be essential.

The candidate's work will be tightly coupled with our JRD RWD Analytics and Insights team, Neuroscience Therapeutic Area compound development teams, and key Regulatory and Statistics functional partners.

  • Collaborate with scientists and clinicians to develop data-driven strategies for precision medicine in neuropsychiatry and neurodegeneration, being forward looking and foreseeing the path to launch.
  • Chart the path for the use of real-world data coordinated with clinical teams to accelerate development and strengthen understanding of unmet need and opportunities to benefit patients subtypes within and across CNS indications.
  • Remain current on the constantly evolving landscape of AIML research and the use of RWD in search of new strategies for strengthening the portfolio, accelerating timelines, improving insights available at key decision points, and strengthening evidence supporting our portfolio.

Qualifications

Education:

PhD with 10-15 years of progressive experience in a computational, quantitative or physical science with prior experience applying data science to life sciences. A degree in a biological science with extensive application of data science methodologies will also be considered.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Extensive background working hands-on deriving insights from real-world and clinical data.
  • Internationally recognized track record of scientific contributions in this field.
  • Prior experience working in the context of real-world evidence integration into pharmaceutical regulatory strategies.
  • Ability to translate data into information and strategies into executable action plans.
  • Known for driving towards novel solutions to problems (often sought after for strategic advice)
  • Experience in leading interdisciplinary teams including scientists and clinicians.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical work to a diverse audience is required.

Preferred:

  • Background and experience working in Neuroscience.
  • Familiarity with clinical development processes.
