Job Description

• Responsible for the design, development, programming methods, processes and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for businesses across the company. Oversee the development of software programs, algorithms and automated processes that cleanse, integrate and evaluate large data sets from multiple disparate sources. Identify and communicate to stakeholders, meaningful, actionable insights from large data and metadata sources. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel ensuring the efficient operation of the function. Assist and drive the enablement of data & analytics engineering strategies for R&D Data Science community. Partner closely with Janssen R&D IT and external partners for implementation and execution. Partner with R&D data scientists to architect, build, and implement data platforms to support organizational initiatives with an emphasis on research and translational data across therapeutic areas. Participate in the evaluation of novel algorithms, tools, and technologies that enable data science capabilities.
• QUALIFICATIONS
• Requirements: Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, or related technical field. Position requires:
• 1. Programming skills with Python;
• 2. Development, implementation and deployment of AI/ML methods;
• 3. ML/DL frameworks like Pytorch, Tensorflow, or Scikit learn;
• 4. Handling diverse data sources: molecular structures, proteins, or biological assays;
• 5. Demonstrated drug design in small molecules with structure-based or ligand-based approaches; and
• 6. Track record of publications (or equivalent) in cheminformatics or bioinformatics.
