Job Description

As part of the Technology Services organization, the Generative AI Lead engineer is accountable for all aspects of daily operations, Own Product engineering and architectural decisions, acting as the executor and the strategic problem solver behind the technical solution; works with squad Lead Engineers and Product squads to solve sophisticated engineering problems and craft the technical design; accountable for the Product technical architecture, alignment to the technology roadmap, and technical engineering standards. The role will be responsible for Generative AI Platform roadmap and architectural vision by collaborating with project teams, platform engineers, and operations teams to ensure successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own Generative AI initiatives, focusing on enhancing efficiency and automation throughout the organization.
  • Conduct research and analysis to find opportunities for AI driven automation and efficiency enhancements.
  • Lead a team of AI researchers and engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support in their professional growth.
  • Leverage Large Language Models (LLM) Generative Pre-Trained Transformer Based Models and build the pipeline to deliver multiple client results and product work streams.
  • Deliver multiple Generative AI Based LLM, NLP Based scalable Solutions.
  • Supervise the end-to-end lifecycle of generative AI projects, from conception to deployment, ensuring high-quality work on schedule.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers, to gather requirements, define project scope, and establish success criteria.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in generative AI techniques, frameworks, and tools, and assess their potential applicability to the organization's projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, assisting in solving complex challenges and driving technical excellence.
  • Supervise the development and implementation of AI systems using generative models
  • Collaborate with multi functional teams to identify business problems that can be solved using AI
  • Participate in the design and architecture of AI solutions.
  • Responsible for overall Engineering and Technology architecture definition, roadmap, and technical decisions for the product in coordination with the Product Owner, Product Group Engineer and BU Architect. Accountable for ensuring that technical implementation is aligned to the BU Architecture vision, economic framework, and business needs.
  • Work closely with the Business Product Manager to define Product strategy/vision
  • Work with squads to problem-solve technical challenges and implement solutions, using the squad technology strategy as a guide; is “hands-on-keys” coding while also supporting system/design/code reviews for squad –inclusive of assembling, writing and approving enablers.
  • Drive development and selection of technical solution options (from the approved list of solutions) and test concepts / potential solutions with users
  • Negotiate technology options with business partners and collaborate with platform/product teams to find opportunities to leverage platforms.
  • Manage development and review cadence, align tech landscape across squads to promote reusability, scalability, and modularity.
  • Monitor product / platform developments and drive leading engineering practices for higher tech quality.
  • Own the technology lifecycle management and Product API catalogue, including the definition, creation, and maintenance
  • Observe technology trends across the industry and conduct research spikes for new capability and innovation opportunities.
  • Ensure timely adoption of new technologies and innovation, select and resource ideas to explore via conceptualisation sessions where vital.
  • Help Product Owners/Lead Engineers prioritize technical backlogs (across squads) and coach / mentor product and squad members.
  • Works with squads and other Product Lead Engineers to manage risks and solve, advance, and track cross-product dependencies and impediments.
  • Be the single point of contact for ISRM, TQ (Q-CSV), vendors, and enterprise platform owners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field; Master's or Ph.D. degree is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of generative AI techniques and frameworks, such as GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks), VAEs (Variational Auto encoders), or similar.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis, probability theory, and mathematical modeling as applied to AI and machine learning.
  • A passion and excitement for the Generative AI space, particularly around the innovation of NLPs and LLMs used to power chat experiences.
  • Experience with multi-modal communication and understand the outstanding opportunities these modes of communication can provide to a messaging platform.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical modeling techniques, including regression analysis, time series analysis, and clustering.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or ggplot.
  • Proven experience working with global teams distributed across multiple time zones, countries, and cultures in a sophisticated technology environment.
  • Excellent communication and social skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non technical team members.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage numerous projects simultaneously.

Experience and Skills:

Domain Expertise:

  • Expert in applicable domain/products and in the tech stack used within the Product Group
  • Has solution-specific process/capability knowledge
  • Experience leading the selection, build, and integration of platforms including data management, API architecture/design, and Cloud Native technologies.
  • Experience owning products / platforms over their lifecycle in a multi-team / channel context.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating into a product / platform vision through deep expertise in development, engineering, and UX
  • Deep understanding and experience in high quality digital delivery, including planning, dependency management, change control, compliance and delivery execution & governance.
  • Sufficient understanding of the business needs, including sufficient knowledge of business processes, relevant value drivers, and industry trends

Product / Digital Expertise

  • Inspiring leader in product / platform strategy and selection, shaping enterprise and vendor partners.
  • Extensive experience in Agile Development is required including team creation, leadership, product / platform standards, governance processes, and organisational change.
  • Substantial skills in the technologies in their domain, sufficient to drive technical solutioning with the ability to actively engage with engineers to make decisions on technical tradeoffs.
  • Functional SDLC Toolchain knowledge including, but not limited to, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and container-based deployment technologies.

Expected Salary : $113,000 - $170,000
