Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Digital Quality Engineer – NLP (Natural Language Processing) and MLOPS (Machine Learning Operations). Preferred locations are in US but considerations will be given for other sites in NA, EMEA, LATAM, and APAC.

In 2021 the Q&C the organization announced a new function, Emerging Technologies and Solutions, which will drive digital and new technologies as an overlay and enabler of the entire Q&C strategy. 

The Digital Quality Engineer (NLP and MLOPS) will help drive the Q&C organization to build, execute and scale NLP projects in line with E2E digital strategy. The Q&C organization processes a lot of text-based information, ranging from Audit Reports (internal / external), CAPAs (Corrective Action / Preventive Action), NCs (Non-Conformances) and a broad range of documents (Policies / Procedures / Work Instructions / Specifications). The Digital Quality Engineer will educate the Q&C organization on the possibilities of NLP (classification, similarity search, information extraction, translation, question-answer, search, …) and manage a portfolio of projects delivering business value, including scaling projects into operations (MLOPS) in partnership with the D&DS (Digital & Data Science) and JJT (Johnson & Johnson Technology) organizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and manage an E2E digital framework for digital lifecycle solution management
  • Connect Data Science (NLP) and JJT processes and tools into a digital framework to drive leveragability, scaling, and NLP adoption
  • Execute on and lead NLP test & learn to create efficiencies in execution for the segments
  • Lead assessment process and NLP discovery / analysis workshops in partnership with Q&C segments and JJT to drive NLP adoption
  • Drive adoption of 3E methodology and business case refinement, establish and manage NLP operational metrics, and create material to market success stories
  • Help support and lead initiatives to drive execution of Q&C integration strategy
  • Feed in & out demand & supply of NLP solutions across Quality Ops and QMS
  • Accountable for timely and on-budget execution of project portfolio
  • Support content & identify solutions while reinforcing strategic guardrails
  • Support and assess challenges coming from the workstream on intelligent & data driven solutions
  • Stimulate digital first attitude in other workstreams and functions
  • Supports communications & capability building for Enterprise Q&C population
  • External benchmarking on NLP solutions

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in one these fields is required: Information Technology, Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Linguistics and Supply Chain / Quality & Compliance
  • Strong knowledge of Python is required
  • Experience with latest NLP technologies (Text Representation, Text Classification, Information Extraction, LLMs – Large Language Models, etc.) is required
  • Experience with MLOps is required
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure (Cognitive Services, DataBricks, …) is preferred
  • Seamlessly acts & integrate across functions is preferred
  • Proven examples in building compelling business cases, beyond Quality is preferred
  • Successes in building integrated E2E solutions is preferred
  • Strong track record of driving digital transformation is preferred
  • Strong project mgt skills with proven results is preferred
  • Translate business needs into solutions is preferred
  • Proven records of working across functions and succeeding in matrix is preferred
  • Strong enterprise mindset & strong business acumen is preferred
