Responsibilities:

  • Take on a leadership role in the GCSO transformation to optimize our go-to-market launch planning strategies through innovative and highly strategic Data Science activities
  • Provide thought leadership on Data Science AI/ML methods, algorithms / model development, validation, tools, etc.
  • Further expand the internal Janssen/J&J knowledge and capacity to use Data Science methods and use various training approaches and best practice sharing
  • Develop Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) models and solutions that will provide key insights on our pipeline assets to drive global commercial strategies and create a competitive advantage by making better business decisions derived through strategic Data Science approaches
  • Work closely within GCSO with Medical Affairs, Market Access and Commercial Analytics to develop the strategies for greatest impact and the plans to execute on them
  • Interface outside of GCSO with the regional businesses, global epidemiology, R&D, JJT, Legal, HCC and others in the development of the Data Science strategy and guidelines for insight generation and usage
  • Effectively navigate technology, analytical, legal and privacy complexities to achieve objectives. Assess the financial implications and business case for Data Science investments and help communicate overarching return on investment, business value drivers, success metrics, etc.
  • Work side by side with the RWE, Digital Health, Data, Platforms and Partnerships and Precision Medicine teams on joint projects to ensure that the optimal combination of Data Science methodologies and analytics are leveraged to deliver on high value use cases

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, computational biology, statistics, epidemiology or related. PhD/PharmD/MD preferred.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in healthcare or life sciences industry is required
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience with data science in a commercial, medical affairs, scientific affairs and/or R&D environment is required
  • Hands-on expertise with AI/ML machine learning, quantitative methods, predictive modelling and other analytics frameworks and techniques is required
  • Proven experience in prioritizing and managing a complicated portfolio of projects required Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset required
  • Knowledge of machine learning and statistical modeling methods for supervised and unsupervised learning
  • These methods include (but are not limited to) regression analysis, clustering, outlier detection, novelty detection, decision trees, collaborative filtering, ensemble methods and boosting, neural networks and deep learning required
  • At least 4 years of experience with relevant software and tools such as Java or Python, Amazon Web Services (AWS), with SQL, business intelligence tools, A/B testing, and building data infrastructure on a large-scale consumer or SaaS product etc. required
  • Excellent communication and training skills required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the oncology and/or immunology therapy area(s) highly preferred
  • Experience in a commercial pharmaceuticals environment strongly preferred
  • Experience with programming in major statistical analysis systems, such as SAS or R, preferred
  • Experience working in multiple therapeutic areas preferred
