As part of the GS Finance Intelligent Automation Team, the Automation Specialist role will be responsible for developing automations while meeting deliverable timelines. The role will support and partner with GS Finance citizen developers with coaching, mentoring to enable them to develop, increase IA knowledge, and evolve the Citizen Development program.

Key Responsibilities:

Automation Development, Test, Delivery, Support:

  • Develop IA solutions in accordance with the GS Finance IA delivery methodology.
  • Responsible for solution design documentation for non-complex IA projects.
  • Test automations with process SMEs and business partners.
  • Provide L2/L3 support on production automations.

Design:

  • Support Senior Developers to translate ‘to-be’ business process into technical design.
  • Work closely with Senior Developers to build IA solution according to the design and provide feedback on any adjustment needed.

Code Reviews:

  • Review Citizen Developer automation designs and code development for quality control and adhering to development standards.
  • Share standard methodologies, knowledge, and automation experiences with other IA Team and citizen developers to further develop IA talent.

IA Technology Capabilities:

  • Understand the breadth of IA technologies and resolve best fit for purpose tools for non-complex project.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required, preferrably in Business, Finance & Accounting, Information Technology, or Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a shared service organization preferably within Finance, or as developer (or equivalent) automating processes preferably within the Finance/Accounting or Payroll function

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Experience with developing solutions using: advanced VBA Excel skills; automation solutions using Alteryx; application databases in SQL; RPA solutions with BluePrism or UiPath

Required Knowledge and Abilities:

  • A demonstrable ability to successfully balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting and resolution skills.
  • Partnering with technical, business teams, and collaborators for achieving common goals and team integration
  • Strong MS office capabilities (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, MS Teams)

Preferred:

  • Demonstrable experience with several Intelligent Automation solutions delivering automations (Alteryx, RPA BluePrism and/or UI Path, Tableau, Power Bi, Programming with Python/R, SQL, web or app development)
  • Experience with developing automations using tools such as Power Platform including Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Assistants, Power Apps; Data visualization solutions using Power BI, Tableau, QlikView; Machine learning models in automated processes; APIs in automated process solutions; other desktop automations with Python or C#; SQL SSIS, Azure Data Factories, other data integration tools; Kafka, Cloudera, and Informatica; and other fields of AI, NLP, Chatbots
  • Experience on multi-developer project teams with agile project management methodology and building and handling development standards.
  • Background or knowledge of Finance and Payroll function processes and tools.

Other Preferred:

  • Certified RPA Developer in BluePrism or UiPath
  • Certified RPA Architect in BluePrism or UiPath

The base pay range for this position is $73,000 - $117,300 USD

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
