As a Data Scientist at IBM, you will help transform our clients’ data into tangible business value by analyzing information, communicating outcomes and collaborating on product development. Your Role and Responsibilities

The ideal candidates will possess a scientific &technical background in software engineering with familiarity in quantum computing, Any experience working as a full-stack developer, technical depth and hands-on experience working with distributed systems, object-oriented programming, and building scalable solutions to solve specific industry ML and/or Optimization could be highly desirable. The candidate should have familiarity with Qiskit SDK and be able to implement advanced algorithms working with Quantum Scientists. The candidate should be a self-starter and keen to learn new concepts.

In addition, as the ideal candidate, you will have some familiarity with different classical approaches for optimization, machine learning, and algebra coming from 3+ years of industry experience.

The candidate will also be a trusted advisor to customers and internal teams; helping develop the quantum computing knowledge and skills for solutions architects, as well as the technical field community.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Strong knowledge in quantum computing
  • Experience in Qiskit or other equivalent tools
  • 5+ years of data engineering and data science experience within specific industries.
  • Familiarity with classical approaches for optimization, machine learning and linear algebra.
  • Excellent ideation, facilitation and communications skills
  • Detail-oriented team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to take a leadership role when necessary.
  • English: Fluent

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experienced in delivering a commercial application
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++
  • Familiarity with Qiskit and quantum concepts and principles
  • Familiarity with classical approaches for optimization
  • Experience with some aspect of high-performance computing use within an industry context
  • Write clear, efficient and well-tested maintainable code
  • Experience with Developing scalable and highly performant solutions
  • Proficiency in Python with good knowledge of Jupyter, Tensor, Numpy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch
  • Experience working with distributed systems, cloud services and agile development practices
  • Demonstrated ability to share knowledge via mentoring, code reviews, design documents or other means.
  • Strong communication skills
  • 5+ years programming experience working as a fullstack developer
  • Familiarity with open source development and Qiskit (optional)
