Job Description
As a Data Scientist at IBM, you will help transform our clients’ data into tangible business value by analyzing information, communicating outcomes and collaborating on product development. Work with Best in Class open source and visual tools, along with the most flexible and scalable deployment options. Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Quantum is an industry first initiative to build universal quantum computers for business, engineering and science. This effort includes advancing the entire quantum computing technology stack and exploring applications to make quantum broadly usable and accessible. Your Role and Responsibilities:
You will be part of a team whose mission is to grow the quantum computing workforce in a variety of constituencies around the world. As an IBM Quantum Developer Community Lead, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary, global team of developers, designers, researchers, and engineers to bring quantum computing experience to a wide audience. If you are self-motivated, curious, and love to share your passion for open technology with others, we have the right opportunity for you.
Your role is to lead community building initiatives in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region with a focus on growing our open source Qiskit user-base working in close collaboration with IBM Quantum researchers, developers and our partners. In this role, you must have passion not only for technology but also with connecting people and seeing individuals grow in this community.
The ideal candidate must also possess communication skills appropriate for engagement with developers and scientists but must also be able to articulate complex concepts clearly to a non-technical audience. You must be a dot connector to collaborate across many internal and external audiences as a Developer Community lead for our Qiskit community, comfortable with complex problem solving, and able to work independently to set your day to day priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategize on novel ways of reaching new and existing audiences across developer and academic communities.
- Lead the delivery of unique and scalable quantum education programs that are relevant to local communities.
- Work with various stakeholders inside and outside of the organization to define and deliver on goals.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
- Passion for building and empowering local communities
- Familiarity with the quantum computing academic and industrial ecosystem in Singapore.
- Experience in community building, through formal work or volunteer programs.
- Background in quantum information science or a related field.
- Collaborating efficiently, as well as make creative decisions autonomously.
- Be familiar with Cloud, Full-stack and Application Development, and DevOps process to help clients bring data science to life.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise:
- A PhD or master’s degree providing the relevant background in quantum mechanics and/or quantum information processing such as physics, mathematics, computer sciences is a prerequisite.
- Have a strong background in Python development and Quantum/Data science, Cloud, Full Stack (Front/Back end) and Devops processes.
- Education and experience on topics related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
