Introduction

In this role, you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

As a Data Scientist at IBM, you will help transform our clients’ data into tangible business value by analyzing information, communicating outcomes and collaborating on product development. Work with Best in Class open source and visual tools, along with the most flexible and scalable deployment options. Whether it’s investigating patient trends or weather patterns, you will work to solve real world problems for the industries transforming how we live.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Initial project analysis, setting up project activities in the data science area and monitoring their delivery

• Developing, maintaining and deploying custom algorithms and analytical tools
• Working with both open source and proprietary technologies (such as IBM Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, AWS…)
• Assisting clients in leveraging their data resources and acting as an advocate of data-driven application development
• Effective insights summarization and communication to both internal and external stakeholders
• Close cooperation with direct team members (consultants, architects, developers) and other related parties (IBM Research, professional communities etc.)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least 2 years of experience in data science field

• Good orientation in advanced analytics and core data science algorithms
• Demonstrated knowledge of data manipulation, data mining and a variety of supervised and/or unsupervised modeling techniques
• Very good knowledge of R or Python
• Very good knowledge of at least one of the key visualization libraries (such as ggplot2, plotly, Shiny, matplotlib, bokeh…)
• Business acumen and good communication skills
• Ability to communicate in both English and Czech

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as IBM Watson, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS

• Knowledge of additional programming languages or other data science tools, such as big data processing frameworks
• Knowledge of NLP techniques
