Job Description

Our Data & AI team is looking for a skilled and experienced data science engineer with hands-on experience in the development of AI models. The role will initially be focused on creating and scaling data pipelines and model deployment infrastructure using IBM Cloud Pak for Data and IBM Watson, surfaced through IBM Cognos.

For the right candidate it will be a great opportunity to be involved in and ultimately lead the end-to-end product development life cycles- from ideation through to discovery, launch and expansion of new offerings and features.

You will have a successful track record of technical delivery using best practice and appropriate solution architectures. A background in healthcare application development is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Democratise clinical AI, empowering healthcare providers to build and deploy state of the art healthcare AI using Cloud Pak for Data and IBM Watson:
• Collaborate with a team of experts in research, machine learning/deep learning, software development, healthcare business analysts, as well as clinicians.
• Design, implement, evaluate, and deploy machine learning solutions which consider key clinical factors and responsible AI using Deep Learning.
• Contribute to an evolving team with a growth mindset, creating clarity and influencing the team strategy.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Passion for healthcare and improving patients’ outcomes.
• Strong programming skills in at least one language (Python etc) a solid background in algorithms, data structures and solving impactful technical problems at scale.
• In-depth understanding of PGM, Bayesian Networks, knowledge graphs
• UK English NLP experience
• Experience in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience with Machine Learning models including Deep Learning.
• PhD or MS or equivalent in Computer Science or related fields.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Set-up, maintenance and ongoing development of continuous build/ integration infrastructure.
• Create and maintain fully automated CI build processes
• Write build and deployment scripts.
• Working with clinical data and clinical language
• Cloud-based deployment and especially OpenShift and Kubernetes based containerisation
• IBM Cognos development
• ITIL training and practice
• Lean Six Sigma experience
• Experience translating medical problems to technology solutions
• Multilingual (European language)
