The Information Intelligence teams are building groundbreaking technology for algorithmic search, machine learning, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence. Key Qualifications

• Strong problem solving skills and able to write production quality clean code.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in building scalable distributed systems for training, inferencing & evaluation of machine learning models
• Demonstrated experience in improving data quality
• Experience with petabyte scale data processing & building data pipelines
• Quick learner who can work independently as well as in a team

Description

We design and build features that empowers billions of Apple users. Our team processes billions of links to find the best content to surface to users through search. We analyze web pages to extract critical features for indexing, ranking. We apply statistical analysis to improve link selection, freshness, retrieval rates, extraction quality, and many others. You’ll have the opportunity to work with large scale systems with trillions of rows and many petabytes of data and incredible complexity. We are responsible for the end to end ownership of our pipelines and services, from conception, to design, to implementation, to deployment, to operations. As a result, each one of us takes our responsibilities seriously, while having a lot of fun building the best features to improve data quality at scale.

Candidate who joins our team will be responsible for the following

• Drive the feature from inception to production launch that will help improve Siri, Search & other Apple products
• Work with cross functional teams & stakeholders to solve ambiguous problems
• Build software that improves experimentation and helps team make better decisions about what to try next - train, deploy, evaluate, and debug models for complex tasks
• Drive the team & organizational goals & OKRs
• Deliver artifacts, code with high quality

Education & Experience

Our applications are complex and strong programming skills and computer science fundamentals are essential. Whether you have a traditional CS degree or self-taught or learned some other way, we’d love to talk with you.

Additional Requirements

Nice to have:

* Experience with information extraction or natural language processing, large language models, GPU inferencing, model compression, model quantization is a plus

* Experience with cloud stack like AWS or GCP with kubernetes is a plus

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500 and $243,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
