Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience as a data science practitioner.
  • Proficiency with applying quantitative methods to structured & unstructured data for complex data analysis, pattern recognition, insights generation and metrics development.
  • Strong programming skills in data manipulation & processing (SQL & Python preferred).
  • Experience with understanding the complexity of user behavior via deep-dive investigations as well as designing, analyzing, and interpreting A/B experiments.
  • Proven expertise in data wrangling and developing data visualizations & reporting with toolings such as Tableau, Snowflake, AWS etc.
  • Experience articulating and translating business questions and using statistical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data.
  • Self-motivated and curious with creative and critical thinking capabilities to improve data quality evaluation methods for diverse and complex data annotation programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with demonstrated experience in authoring & presenting analytical insights via papers & presentations.

Description

Data Operations team is seeking an experienced senior data scientist to research and develop evaluation methods to drive the continuous improvement of annotation data quality for Apple’s wide variety of ML projects. You will study customer’s dataset and quality requirements, develop automated metrics to measure/monitor data quality at scale. You will analyze user behavior, build an integrated system to detect abnormal grading patterns, and identify opportunities to improve quality and consistency of data delivered to our ML customers. You will work with engineering teams to get your methodological frameworks translated into technologies that Data Operations will use every day. You will work with large, complex data sets to solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems by applying advanced analytical methods as needed. You will build and prototype analysis pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale. This is a highly reciprocal position that requires working with Engineering, Quality, Training and Operations teams to deliver premier solutions. And most of all, you are able to manage and lead change effectively while maintaining Apple culture and standards. Education & Experience

Master’s degree in a technical or quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or Physics (PhD preferred)

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $152,400 and $268,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
