Key Qualifications

• 2 or more years of professional experience
• Programming language: Java, C++, Swift, Objective C, Python, or Scala
• Extensive experience working across organization verticals and participating in cross-functional partnerships.
• Shown ability to implement new technical expertise on-the-job and work independently to learn new technologies.
• Excellent understanding of an ML-based product lifecycle.
• In-depth knowledge and application of statistics-based evaluation methodologies or user success metrics.
• Experience with systems engineering; in-depth understanding of interdependencies of ML and SW components.
• Experience designing and implementing large-scale data and compute intensive pipelines and/or tools.
• Ability to develop long-term vision and implement strategies at scale.

Description

As the design owner, you will drive or participate in a number of solutions required to deliver successful AIML products. These include: the design of platforms and methodologies for simulation and evaluation of user experiences for ML based products; evaluation of personalization; optimization of accuracy vs cost; scalability across locales; trade-offs between product success metrics, in particular under constraints of on-device ML models performance. This role provides a senior-level guidance spanning the full cycle; from design, implementation, to feedback and iteration on systems, frameworks and evaluation methodologies developed for the AIML teams. Equally, this role will participate in AIML products roadmap decisions, providing insights and recommendations derived from the deep understanding of the current success metrics of AIML products.

Education & Experience

MS/PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related field

• At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $110,200 and $198,100 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
