Join our team at the Video Computer Vision (VCV) organization, where we specialize in analyzing real-time video streams and developing advanced reasoning algorithms. VCV is responsible for groundbreaking products like FaceID, various vision-related features such as hands and gaze tracking, and spatial Personas for FaceTime. We are seeking outstanding leaders who can contribute to the development of next-generation input technologies. Our collaborative efforts bring together multiple teams to achieve this vision, focusing on tracking hand, gaze, body, and objects, as well as their interactions using cutting-edge technologies like machine learning, computer vision, and sensor fusion.

Key Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in managing teams involved in productizing Computer Vision or AI/Machine Learning technologies.
  • A total of 8+ years of experience in computer vision and machine learning algorithm development, as well as software development.
  • Experience with end-to-end ownership of projects and the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Team management: Demonstrated experience in recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management. Experience in working across disciplines, driving best practices, and mentoring team members.
  • Communication and problem-solving skills: Clear and effective communication of complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to make thoughtful decisions under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Preferred qualification: Prior experience or degree in human-computer interaction (HCI) is desirable.

Description

Engaging cross-functionally with other researchers and engineers to develop concepts that advance the entire product pipeline across hardware, software, integration, infrastructure, and applications. Operate strategically and tactically. Working closely with various organizations to define and execute long-term strategies and roadmaps and help set direction while staying on top of the day to day software development. Recruit world-class talent and provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers. Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams.

Education & Experience

PhD or MS in computer vision and machine learning or equivalent industry experience.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $155,500 and $269,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
