Key Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:
• Deep learning Research
• Software Engineering Skills such as Python, large scale software systems, design Module APIs or testable modules
• Speech Recognition
• Machine Learning Platforms such as TensorFlow or JAX

Description

Multiple positions available in New York, New York. Design and implement scalable self-supervised learning algorithms and systems to learn an acoustic model from millions of hours of unlabeled speech, to finetune the acoustic model on labeled speech recognition data, to use the resulting system as a teacher to transcribe speech and generate pseudo labels for training production speech recognition systems. Design and implement algorithms and system to improve speech recognition of named entities by leveraging text-only data to build language models and fusing the language models with speech recognition systems. Build models that train on billions of loosely coupled image-text pairs to understand concepts visually and verbally and apply those models in products. Design and implement unified speech recognition systems for multiple languages that can handle words of different languages in the same sentence. Explore joint understanding of visual and language inputs. Design and implement algorithms to understand natural language queries, extract user intents and entity names, and generate answers in fluent sentences. 40 hours/week.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $161,000 - $242,000/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
