Apple’s Strategic Data Solutions (SDS) team has an immediate opening for an outstanding technical program manager (TPM) to help drive strategy and development of our credit-risk decisioning program, which supports Apple’s Wallet, Payment, and Commerce (WPC) business.

Key Qualifications

• Experience leading successful, high-impact analytic programs in finance / payment industry, especially credit and risk analytics
• Ability to drive change through positive influence of co-workers, leaders, and business partners
• Experience and passion for leading a culture-based team
• Ability to network with individuals at all levels and develop close partnerships through strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively communicate and tell meaningful stories with data in both formal and informal settings
• Ability to manage conflicting project ideas, to ensure all voices are heard, and to own the hard calls
• Ability to perform business discovery, simplify and define problems, extract key information, and propose innovative solutions
• Ability to grasp the details of complex business / engineering / analytic problems, to evaluate underlying causes, and to propose potential solutions
• Inquisitiveness and a desire for continued self-improvement and development of new skills
• Data science or machine learning experience a plus

Description

TPMs conceptualize, build, and deliver analytic solutions that enable Apple to provide exceptional products and services to its customers with greater speed, control, efficiency, and scale. They use analytics and machine learning to nurture new innovations, to support new product offerings, and to balance design / operational tradeoffs. Partnering with a variety of product, engineering, and operations teams, they must demonstrate business acumen, communicate clearly with business leaders, and bring structure and clarity to uncertain situations with competing priorities. Most importantly, the best TPMs are amazing teammates, effective and considerate leaders, and champions of an empowering and inclusive team culture.

The TPM role includes:

• Working collaboratively with our team of data scientists, engineers, analysts, and program managers
• Developing partnerships with key partners across a variety of Apple teams to support current and future initiatives
• Identifying new business opportunities and developing solutions that balance impact, cost, resourcing, timeline, success likelihood, and risk
• Translating business needs into initiatives with well-defined requirements
• Developing and prioritizing analytic projects
• Managing, interpreting, and communicating business-critical metrics
• Providing day-to-day project management that includes: coordinating activities by internal & partner teams, tracking progress towards milestones, continuously adapting plans to changes, and keeping teams and leadership updated on status
• Leading regular communication with teammates, partners, and leadership and conducting periodic reviews with executive sponsors

Education & Experience

BS / MS in computer science, analytics, finance, engineering, math, statistics, or similar
