The Windows Devices and Shell Team is responsible for delivering seamless and integrated AI experiences in Windows for consumers, information workers, frontline workers, gamers, and others. We are looking for a Product Manager (PM) II to create delightful experiences that help accelerate people’s productivity with the power of AI.

As a Product Manager II, you will be responsible for the development, management, and success of new Windows experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and marketing, to drive product roadmaps, define user experiences, and ensure the timely delivery of delightful and innovative experiences.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of program management experience delivering end-user-facing products and services. 

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience. 
  • Demonstrate user empathy, passion for user research, and good UX intuition.
  • Experience working with both consumer and commercial customers. 
  • Experience working with a community centered around a technology product or service. 
  • Passion for working with customers and advocating for them with other product teams. 
  • Experience in ​shipping software features with execution across multiple disciplines​ and partners.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, motivate others, and create a positive team culture.
  • Experience using data and analytics to design and improve products.
  • Experience in innovation, an entrepreneurial spirit, comfortable navigating ambiguity.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to build world-class user experiences for Windows.
  • Collaborate across disciplines (Design, Engineering, User Research, Data Science, and others) to create product roadmaps aligned with Microsoft’s corporate and divisional strategies. 
  • Drive detailed product planning resulting in spec level collateral aligned with stakeholders. 
  • Use data analytics and experimentation to generate insights and make design decisions. 
  • Exercise technical judgment and influence to ensure alignment with related products and technology. 
  • Organize and present program plans, reviews, and status to engineering and senior management.

The right person will have a passion for taking on hard problems, have experience as a creative problem solver, and have an enthusiasm for helping others succeed. Solid design skills, technical capacity, customer focus, and the ability to think critically and come up with creative solutions to problems are essential.
