The Viva Insights Product Team is looking for an experienced senior leader to evolve our data science, research, and product analytics capabilities, and be the spiritual leader driving a culture of data-driven product innovation and decision-making across the product group. You will build a leading product analyst team that will help our product leadership team make data-driven decisions about the future of Viva Insights, a data science team that will drive experiments for new analytics solutions for the product, and research team that will push the direction of the product roadmap. You will have a massive amount of influence on what the product roadmap looks like, and the ability to shape success criteria when delivering on that roadmap.
- The right leader is a great people manager and technical leader who knows how to leverage data science, product analytics, and research to partner with teams across product management and engineering to deliver world class experiences. This leader should have:
- Product Analytics / Applied Data Science Skills: Be a strong data-driven leader who can apply scientific and statistical methods towards answering key business and product questions, as well as generate hypothesis for business growth.
- Strategic Leadership and Business Acumen: Be able to set strategic direction and plans based on insights gained through data analysis and aligned to business goals.
- Team Leadership Skills: Be a strong coach, manager, and leader who models the right values and behaviors. Creates a high-performing, inclusive, and supportive environment. Drives clarity and accountability in the team to achieve goals and objectives.
- Technical Leadership Skills: Drive capability building within the team on data science, analytics, and research skills and experiences to ensure the team is driving innovative work, leveraging the latest methods and technology. Build a deep understanding of the complexities of the behavioral dataset Viva Insights is built upon to effectively drive the work of the team.
- Planning and Execution Skills:?Effectively plan and execute work within the team and with our partner teams. Understand the details while keeping the team focused on the bigger picture impact goals. Dig into details while managing the bigger picture of delivering impact. Drive a rhythm so that the team operates at a high level, knowledge is shared appropriately, and smooth execution is facilitated.
- Communication and Collaboration Skills:?Be a great communicator and collaborator to build relationships inside and outside of Microsoft. Ensure clear communication at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale the Viva Insights data science, product analytics, and research organization to support the growing needs of the product group
- Drive the strategy for leveraging the team’s capabilities to drive product and business success for Viva Insights
- Build and maintain reporting and tracking to understand the performance of our product investments, including key business metrics and product telemetry.
- Partner with Product Management, Design, and Engineering teams to discover and craft metrics, scenarios, hypothesis, and experiments to measure and test customer and product success for Viva Insights.
- Drive experiments and concept development directly with customers
- Utilize excellent communication and collaboration skills to drive a data-driven and research-driven culture across the entire product organization.?
- Position Microsoft as a leader in the employee experience space through thought leadership efforts
- Develop deep product intuition that you will leverage to influence future product decisions and strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Engineering, or other related field
- 10+ years with proven success leading teams, including hiring, developing and retaining talent
- 5+ years of experience in a quantitative, strategic, or analytical role applying data science or analytics to drive product or service decisions and improvements
- Hands-on experience with analytical concepts?(experimental design, statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, product analytics, data visualization)
- Hands-on experience crafting engaging narratives backed with concise data visualizations for broad audiences
