We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist in our research team to help us build and expand our cross-service, signal-based protections using state-of-the art techniques spanning the areas of supervised and unsupervised machine learning. Responsibilities

As one of the senior technical personnel on the team, you will architect novel AI-based solutions and partner with our researchers, engineers, and other data scientists to execute and deploy these state-of-the-art techniques to protect customers.

In your day-to-day work, you will analyze telemetry from our products, conduct ML experiments, build ML pipelines, and ship successful models to production. In addition, you will mentor junior data scientists within the team, as well as establish thought-leadership across Microsoft by participating in conferences (internal and external), and publishing in technical blogs/peer-reviewed articles. 

Qualifications

Required:

• 4+ years of professional experience in a technical role in the areas of supervised & unsupervised machine learning 
• 4+ years of implementing and successfully deploying ML solutions at scale for real-world problems 
• Proficiency in Python, and/or other statistics/ML tools. 
• Moderate coding skills with specific experience in data wrangling & exploration. SQL or similar required. 
• Bachelors/Masters degree with relevant coursework toward Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning

Preferred 

• Experience with deep learning applied to areas such as NLP and computer vision 
• Experience with deploying ML models on cloud technologies such as Azure 
• PhD in a quantitative field (engineering, computer science, statistics etc.) with relevant coursework in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics & Deep Learning 
• Ability to program in an object-oriented language (such as C# or C++)
