Microsoft Research Cambridge (UK) is looking for a senior researcher in causal machine learning. The candidate will closely work with researchers of the Causal AI team and collaborate with Microsoft business units. The research will advance state-of-the-art causal machine learning methods, including but not limited to causal discovery, causal inference, and deep causal learning for real-world applications in the context of first-party collaboration in sales and marketing. This role offers a unique opportunity to advance the research and materializes the impact of research in real-world applications.

Responsibilities

• Advance research on causal machine learning with other team members in Microsoft Research. They will write research code to test new approaches, develop novel theoretical and practical insights, and test these new approaches on real-world data. 
• Lead conversations with partner organizations. Share research insights and ensure that advanced research is aligned with real-world needs. 
• Publish research results in academic venues and communicate research results to different audiences through presentations. 
• Support others' work in the team to keep an efficient development environment. 

Qualifications

Required:? 

• Completed a PhD in causality, deep learning,machine learning or a related area, or equivalent experience.?? 
• Track record?in?relevant?research,?such as causal machine learning,?deep generative modelsas evidenced by publications in top-tier venues. Examples include but are not limited to?ICML,?NeurIPS, UAI, AIStats, etc.? 
• Hands-on experience with current deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.), as evidenced by released code (e.g. on GitHub or elsewhere).?
• Software engineering skills for rapid and accurate development.??
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
