The Search Technology Center in India is looking is hiring a passionate Senior Data Scientist to help build AI driven applications that transform the way people search today by building the next set of suggestion experiences in Bing.

• Do you love working with large complex data sets, like Search, Web Index, User event data?
• Do you enjoy developing Machine Learning models using Python/R with in-house or open-source libraries to deliver meaningful insights?

Search engines serve billions of query suggestions per day and generate huge amount of user event data every day. We are a team of engineers and scientists that is tasked with the responsibility of creating candidates of best suggestions and ranking them for all Bing enabled traffic, scaling millions per hour, while contributing to the user success with better exploration and faster task completion.

WebXT organization in Microsoft has the mission of “Make the web work for you”. The WebXT Team, is part of Microsoft’s India Development Centre(IDC) in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Noida (and home offices at cities across the country for the time being). The team is responsible for driving the overall strategy in search and AI Platforms – spanning consumer and enterprise customers. The team’s constant endeavor is to nurture an innovative, inclusive culture to enable one to build finely crafted Search & AI products and grow to be a leader. It is home to one of the largest groups of machine learning and AI talent, not just in IDC, but all of India.

Responsibilities

Our ideal candidate will:

• Design deep-learned models for solving complex business problems
• Have an ability to mine large data sets with Cosmos, Hadoop or Spark like technologies
• Transform data into innovative features/signals that can improve a machine-learning task
• Build deep learning models and evaluate their quality on real life scenarios
• Prototype new approaches and develop new algorithms using NLP & ML techniques
• Work with other data scientists, engineers, UX experts to deliver a robust solution to the customer
• Have an ability to self-learn new techniques from textbooks and research papers
• Mentor junior data scientists on the team
• Never compromise on engineering excellence and delivering quality at scale

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields
• At least 5 years of experience in the areas of machine learning, information retrieval or natural language processing
• Experience working on deep-learning models is a must
• Proficiency and demonstrable skills using statistical or machine learning programming languages and packages (Python/R etc.)
• Demonstrable skills and experience using SQL or NoSQL data stores
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
