Job Description

In the Bing video/image search team, we use web-scale, state-of-the-art machine learning, computer vision and NLP techniques to better understand user queries and image/video content to return content that best satisfies user needs and keep them safe. We take advantage of big data and signals from millions of people across the web to develop global video/image search in Bing and contribute to other widely used Microsoft products such as Azure and Windows.

Responsibilities

• Build, analyze and deploy machine learning models to solve real-world classification/ranking problems in areas of Computer Vision, NLP and Search. Covers all stages of ML problem solving including measurement/metrics building, training/test data collection, model training, user engagement analysis.
• Focused on both algorithm experimentation and shipping them to live production. Sometimes need to do infrastructure change in production system.
• Explore business growth opportunities via exploratory data analysis on large-scale, diverse data.
• Collaborate with other data scientists, distributed system engineers and product managers to delight users with new web experiences.
• Potentially mentor other junior team members.

Qualifications

• Master or above degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or similar technical fields.
• 3+ years of programming experience in general purpose programming languages like C#, C++, Java, Python.
• 3+ years of experience in Machine Learning / Computer Vision / NLP. Computer Vision background preferred.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Embrace engineering excellence and deliver quality results at scale.
