Job Description

• Azure Core is the underlying infrastructure platform for Microsoft’s Cloud Computing with phenomenal, continued growth.
• We build highly available, planet-scale distributed systems that offers and operates millions of Virtual Machines and containers for customers to run mission critical workloads in the Microsoft cloud.
• We are a part of the Azure Core Platform and focused on improving customer's experience as they embark on their cloud adoption journey.
• We remove any friction that customers face as they move to Azure cloud. If customer's face problems, we provide diagnostics and self-help tools.
• We provide similar diagnostics to the Azure cloud support staff. In this way, we directly & indirectly influence customer journey.
• This is a highly visible and impactful team that is central to Azure’s continued growth.
• We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced data scientist to create actionable recommendations to help customers adopt Azure.
• You will have access to large datasets to learn from and find novel insights to drive the business forward.
• If you love dealing with ambiguity, solving challenging problems, and using data to drive step improvement in current business practices, this would be a great fit.
• You will also be collaborating with talented PMs and SDEs within our team to bring your ideas into our production systems.
• In addition to data science work, this role is expected to write production level code which enables you to take charge of end-to-end deployment of your model.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data to find insights. For example identifying areas of friction in customer journey.
• Propose solutions to help reduce friction. Assess success metrics for such approaches.
• Collaborate with PMs and partner teams to derive business impact.
• Write production code to train, test and deploy models.
• Lead data science processes such as literature review, offline/online testing, label generation etc.

Qualifications

Required:

• BS in Computer Science/Mathematics or Statistics.
• Basic understanding of statistics – A/B experimentation, regression, classification, optimization.
• 1+ years of professional experience in data science, data modeling, data analytics, machine learning, or related fields.

Preferred:

• Experience in C#, Python, Java or other Object Oriented Language.
• Master’s or PhD’s degree with research experience in Statistics/Machine Learning.
• Basic understanding of ML libraries and tools – Python ,PyTorch, Tensorflow, Spark, Hadoop, Synapse.
• Experience developing end-to-end Machine Learning systems.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong problem-solving skills and high ambitions to dive in, learn, and get work done.
