The Microsoft 365 and Future of Work team is focused on establishing Microsoft as a thought leader and innovator in the changing world of work – today and for the next decade. An important aspect of achieving this goal comes in defining and clearly articulating the differentiated value of Microsoft 365 to commercial customers of all sizes from the largest of enterprises all the way down to the smallest of small businesses to increase customer preference, revenue, and eventually market share.

The Microsoft 365 and Future of Work team is looking for a Senior Data Scientist. We are looking for a passionate, creative, analytical, and experienced individual who loves big data, data visualization, and is intensely curious and eager to help define the future of work for customers and help Microsoft lead the conversation as work and the macro-economic environment continues to evolve.

This role sits at the dynamic intersection of thought leadership and business. You will delve into data and insights from across the company including Microsoft Research, Microsoft 365 telemetry data, and LinkedIn labor market data to help customers deeply understand how work is changing and to inform Modern Work growth strategy as well as storytelling. You will partner with Microsoft researchers who have decades of experience studying how productivity and work are changing on the critical questions to ask in a rapidly changing landscape, and to help shape the research agenda for Modern Work. You will partner across product marketing, business planning, finance, and engineering to help uncover key insights to help Microsoft account teams to win with Microsoft 365 at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead executive leadership data needs
• Partner deeply with office of applied research and Microsoft researchers across future of work and with IDEAS team to find golden nuggets in research
• Ideate with FoW team and PR team to develop data visualizations for where work is headed
• Create and maintain living documentation that clearly defines areas of differentiation between Microsoft’s Modern Work business vis-à-vis these other vendors and market threats.
• Synthesize large amounts of information and data to concise insights for and actions required of Microsoft’s Modern Work business.
• Inform the organization of market insights to drive urgency, pushing for resolution as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• BS, BA, Computer Science, Statistics, Math and/or Data Science Degree or equivalent
• 7+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics and/or Statistics
• Experience in delivering centralized data products that provides insights to teams across the organization
• Prior experience in Consumer or Commercial acquisition, renewal and expansion campaign analytics, digital marketing analytics and marketing automation preferred
• In depth understanding of causal experimentation methods is necessary
• Ability to do large data manipulation using SQL, R, Python, or other data languages is a must
• Strong people leadership skills to influence others, with the ability to understand team dynamics, retain, attract, and develop team members.
• Should be grounded in a growth mindset, and advocate for diversity and inclusion.
• Promotes a culture of collaboration within and across teams
• Exceptional problem solving, technical and data analysis skills
• Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects
