The Commerce + Ecosystems Org powers the discovery, engagement, and commerce experience for Microsoft Cloud. We are looking for an experienced data science manager who can build and inspire a team and drive the delivery of impactful data products. If you are passionate about applying data science to reshape Microsoft cloud customer experience, are obsessed about driving innovation in customer sign up, product usage and customer communication to enable product growth, are energized by managing payment fraud risk through machine learning, and enjoy building and managing high-performing team then we have a unique opportunity for you

Responsibilities

• Deliver strong results by researching and building innovative forecasting, anomaly detection, transaction risk models, and customer reputation models
  • Partner closely with product, engineering to productize ML models
  • Build a deep understanding of user behaviors across all products and services
  • Design strategic metrics for our new services and identity causal impacts through experimentation and advanced inference methods
  • Champion the use of data analysis and data Science practices across all aspects of our product/services and business engagements
  • Build high performing data science team by hiring and retaining top talent
  • Guide your team, helping them formulate approaches to solve challenging problems and discover new opportunities in context of customer, engineering, and operation needs

Qualifications

Qualifications
• 7+ years of data science experience including at least 3 years of management experience
• A PhD or MS in quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering) or equivalent practical experience
• Proficiency using one or more programming or scripting language like Python, R, SQL
• Demonstrated ability and experience in using predictive analysis, statistical computing, experiments, and machine learning to improve business results
• Proven partnership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to influence senior leadership in a cross-functional environment
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audience
• Experience building a team, determining scope, and execute on its goals
