Within the German Industry Solutions Delivery organization the Strategy & Innovation team is responsible for bringing the most innovative, first-of-a-kind technology solutions into productive use for enterprise customers in the scope of overall digital transformation programs. The responsibilities of the team include business relevant innovation, support of strategic deals in presales and delivery, and intellectual property identification and harvesting. Furthermore, in the scope of customer engagements this team closely cooperates with the engineering and research teams in the Microsoft headquarter.

We're looking for you

To further build up this team we are looking for a Solution Architect (m/f/d) to help drive the strategic topic of data platforms and artificial intelligence leveraging the capabilities of the cloud and the intelligent edge.

The ideal candidates should bring a mix of advanced technology, software development and data science expertise grounded on a good business understanding. This role requires both broad and deep technology knowledge across Microsoft and non-Microsoft products and technologies, and the ability to provide strategic technical direction and technical leadership to customers and colleagues. It is involved in business and technical risk management as well as the entire IT services lifecycle, with a broad focus on technical talent, consistent delivery, innovation and technology alignment.

Responsibilities

Customer Facing Activities

• Supports strategic digital transformation customer programs with innovative high business impact technology solutions like artificial intelligence during deal pursuit and delivery to maximize win-rate and minimize implementation time and risk
• Defines innovative end-to-end technology solutions to realize customer business outcomes in-line with the Microsoft technology strategy
• Provides oversight and assistance to critical customer implementation engagements and helps ensure that required technical and business criteria are met on critical projects.
• Oversees technical strategy and supports execution of quality measures for presales opportunities and delivery engagements

Business Development Activities

• Defines and creates compelling showcases and materials demonstrating the business value of the latest and most-innovative Microsoft technologies
• Drives the landing of new technologies in the German market in close cooperation with the Microsoft sales organization

IP Reuse and People Development Activities

• Recommends and sponsors Intellectual Property reuse and generation activities
• Mentors other technical roles and grows technical talent

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Relevant work experience should involve a significant subset of pre-sales support, solution design and implementation, technical consulting, software development, and operations/support.
• Ability to communicate the business value of technology to external and internal stakeholders.
• Experience in designing and technically leading the implementation of complex end-to-end customer solutions required.
• Work experience should include demonstrated technical depth in the area of modern software development, machine learning and key base technologies like datalakes or containers.
• Deep familiarity with the technical characteristics and business benefits of cloud platforms.
• Candidates should have a good understanding of the business fundamentals of the IT services business (consulting, support, operations).
• Willing to constantly expand what is possible with technology while balancing opportunity and risk.
• Willing to work in a high performance team in a constantly evolving technology and business environment.
• Fluency in German and English language required.
