Location/Division Specific Information

At our Karlsruhe, Germany site you’ll be part of multi-disciplinary R&D team that develops scientific software, rheological instruments and extrusion machinery that enable our customers to solve research and industrial problems.

How will you make an impact?

As a software architect with strong math skills and an interest in scientific applications, you will create and improve software architectures that enable our customers to solve new problems or simplify their analysis work.

What will you do?

  • Work with our software teams and product management to generate remote control and data analysis application software to drive our instruments and convert samples to insights
  • Turn our product vision into effective, secure, and future-proof software solutions by defining, improving, and sharing high-level architectures that meet all stakeholder needs.
  • Ensure a high quality level and consistent feel of our products and their subsystems – both to our customers and our software teams by defining efficient, straightforward interfaces and architectural patterns.
  • Identify and prioritize technical risks and impediments, share and align architectural vision
  • Collaborate with our application and R&D team to bring innovative features into our product development pipeline

How will you get here?

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Information Systems or related scientific field required

Experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft development environments including C#, .NET Framework (several years related experience)
  • Experience defining overarching architectures within complex software projects.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong software development and problem solving skills
  • Ability to interpret, refine and visualize data to support problem solving
  • Proven grasp of software version control and release management
  • Familiarity with machine learning is a plus
  • Familiarity with rheological or extrusion applications is a plus
  • Experience with NIST SSDF is a plus
  • German language skills on B2 Level
