Location/Division Specific Information

This role, based in Guilford, Connecticut, is part of the Clinical Sequencing team developing new technologies and products built on Ion Torrent Next-Generation Sequencing chips and platforms.

Our team, supporting Ion Torrent semiconductor sequencing chip R&D, is a diverse group of scientists and engineers with a passion for data science and visualization. We use our proficiency in writing code and managing data to analyze complex systems and develop new metrics to drive early R&D and product development efforts alike. A day in the Life:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams spanning molecular biology, engineering, software, and bioinformatics to develop innovative products
  • Build novel data visualizations to adeptly analyze large datasets and support data-driven decisions
  • Design inventive experiments to unravel new and complicated challenges

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science, advanced degrees preferred.

Experience

  • Several years of proven experience working with sophisticated systems and complicated data
  • Track record of working with diverse teams, both locally and globally
  • Background in experimental work including planning, execution, analysis, and effective communication of results

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Familiarity writing code in Python, C++, or similar languages
  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills
  • Ability to multitask and rapidly adjust to changing priorities
  • Knowledge of next-generation sequencing and other biotechnologies
  • Expertise interacting with and maintaining databases through Django, SQL, etc.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

This is an on-site role that supports flexibility when needed. Our hybrid experimental and analytical work enables the occasional day working remotely.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $91,700.00–$137,525.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
