Artificial Intelligence (AI) and process automation has taken the lead in technological advancement across the pharmaceutical sector including Pharmacovigilance. PPD as part of Thermo Fisher Scientific increased the efficiency of the drug discovery process, through innovations and novel PV technology solutions.

In this role as a digital transformation lead you will bridge the gap between PV and IT and enable Pharmacovigilance operations to deliver reliant, compliant, and efficient pharmacovigilance services.

A day in the Life:

  • Maintains good communications with other functional groups acting as a champion of change and PV technology leader. Collaborates with other employees with diverse background and perspectives in identifying the optimal solutions and technology advancements. 
  • Previous experience in PV System Validation
  • Management of Argus across the entire lifecycle, including Safety Database migration
  • Experience with the application of reporting tools such as OBIEE and Analytics
  • E2B Gateway set-up and testing
  • Experience in PV Tech Audits and Inspections 
  • participates in Business Development activities
  • Manages staff of experienced PV Tech professionals, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations. Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime. 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification to include 5+ years of safety systems experience  
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years).  
  • 3+ year of leadership responsibility  

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role. 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong influential skills with the ability to meet the objectives of cross-functional teams
  • Broad understanding of PV systems, testing and validation processes along with the working knowledge of global regulatory requirements and the importance of procedural/process compliance
  • Proficient in delivering successful PV Technology initiatives on time and budget.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Safety Databases and other PV software is desirable
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills
