The BI Developer role supports the business functions by using data technologies to drive continuous improvement within the organization. This team member is responsible for growing and optimizing our data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and transformation of raw data into useful datasets. This position will collaborate with our Data Architects, Database Administrators, and Data Analysts on data initiatives and will ensure efficient data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. You will have the ability to act as a mentor to help guide and teach others on SQL Server standard methodologies to build an outstanding Supply Chain Analytics team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, test, and detail all new or modified applications, tools and reports applying software development agile methodologies.
  • Design, document, construct and deploy database architectures and applications.
  • Develops, monitors, and maintains ETL processes that extract, transform, and load data from the Data Warehouse and other data sources for use in Supply Chain applications.
  • Prepare and deliver automated reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential issues in systems across the Supply Chain.
  • Creates metrics for reports and impactful key performance indicators to assist drive interpersonal management in a goal-oriented environment.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for new systems and post-implementation support.
  • Deliver training to end users for all modified and new business systems.
  • Identifies and provides input to new technology opportunities that will have a positive impact on improving the BI systems.
  • Perform analysis for a wide range of requests using data in different formats and from various platforms.
  • Perform code reviews to provide continuous improvement to customers.
  • Provide technical mentoring to developers and analysts.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following: MIS, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Sciences, or relevant field
  • 3-+ years relevant experience as a BI Developer or Software Developer using the Microsoft SQL Server Stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
  • 3+ years of SQL Server development experience with T-SQL to build, UDFs, Stored Procedures, Views, Indexed Views and Tables
  • 2+ years of modern data warehouse architecture design and implementation in Azure and/or AWS
  • Azure Synapse Analytics (SQL DW), Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob and/or Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, Azure Analysis Services
  • AWS Redshift, Aurora, DMS (w / CDC), Glue, Lambda, S3
  • Solid understanding of database design principles using normalization and standard methodologies
  • Good experience applying the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with SSIS and/or Azure Data Factory for ETL operations
  • Demonstrable experience in using MS OLAP technologies in SSAS both Multi-dimensional and Tabular
  • Extensive experience with development, deployment, and administration of business intelligence tools such as Power BI for dashboards and reports
  • O365 products and services experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Additional Skills not required but helpful

  • Preferred data warehouse analysis experience, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies, structures, theories and how it impacts data modeling
  • Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform and modern business application methodologies
  • SQL Server query tuning expertise using execution plans and Analysis Services Dynamic Management Views to improve performance
  • Experience with SQL Server data partitioning
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server or some other source control software
  • Experience with SQL Server extended events
