Key Responsibilities:

GBS Automation Team (as part of the Digital Enablement Department) is responsible to support the Shared Service organization of Thermo Fisher Scientific Global Business Services [GBS] by providing process automation expertise and development capabilities. Our distributed team is the power user of digital enabling technologies at the field of Automation, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, using well established and emerging technologies.

GBS is a fast-growing organization and a key strategic backbone of the company.

The GBS Automation Team focuses on delivering automation initiatives using low-code tools like UiPath, Power Automate, Power BI and enabling human in the loop automations by creating high-code web applications (Angular, SharePoint).

The Automation & BI DevOps Engineer is collaborative person with basic level (1-2 years’ experience) knowledge in coding and application development, who can support process automations in controlling and supervising those, tackle technical and other relevant issues.

Besides, the new colleague will be able to participate in smaller scale projects as a developer and making enhancements invokes in larger scale projects.

We are looking for dedicated and motivated candidates with junior / medior experience in the field of process monitoring and automation having basic knowledge and understanding of various automation tools, platforms, and programming languages. This is a great opportunity to get a deep understanding on automation- tools (like UiPath, Intelligent OCR, Machine Learning, etc.) processes & technical delivery, automation & application development, and related background processes. Key responsibilities:

  • Controlling and monitoring of live automation processes (with special focus on UiPath Orchestrator Job monitoring, debugging and fixes).
  • Dealing with exceptions related tickets in Service Now. Channelling the error cases to relevant resolving groups.
  • Infrastructure and enabling technology/data management including Amazon Web Server [AWS], databases and data lakes (MS SQL; PostgreSQL; Amazon S3, Databricks, etc.); UiPath Orchestrator and Studio, Azure, etc.
  • Administrative tasks; Understanding of Process- and Technical Design Documents, process maps. Document maintenance.
  • Run and support Internal testing, UAT and Hypercare development cycles. Support and handle CI/CD cycles, repositories, and projects in GitHub.
  • Implement enhancements of automation projects. Production migration and deployment of packages.
  • Development of automation projects in UiPath, Power Automate, Alteryx etc.
  • Running maintain and distribute operations and performance reports (Power BI, Power Flow)
  • Machine Learning (ML) Model (re)training in UiPath’s intelligent OCR platform.
  • Support of Web application projects (e.g.: User maintenance in Azure).
  • Power BI and Power Automate Support, maintenance, fixes.
  • Database and Data lake maintenance (with special focuse on Amazon S3, )
  • Follow-up on new technologies, programming languages, releases, and methodologies.
  • Continuous on-the-job learning and self-education. Job shadowing of Developers and Business Analysts.

Skills/ Qualification/ Experience:

  • Knowledgeable about Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platforms especially UiPath with special focus on Orchestrator jobs (including monitoring, fixes, debugging, etc.), assets, processes, packages, licenses, installation.
  • Understanding of automation and BI infrastructure, virtual machines (AWS), databases, data lakes.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Power Tools with special focus on Power Flow and Automate Processes.
  • Experience in any BI Analytics tools. Power BI is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel, Outlook, Word, Access).
  • GitHub and GitHub Desktop usage experience, including branching, repository management, project management.
  • Familiar with ERP systems.
  • Customer centric: High level customer focus, customer collaboration and personal interactions.
  • Willingness and openness to learn.
  • The individual should have high energy with the ability to organize/priorities workload and issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills is required.
  • English language skill is required for this role.
  • Ability of co-operation with developers, senior colleagues
  • Knowledge of operations maintenance and CI/CD processes
