Position Summary:

The BI developer role will be part of the Performance and Productivity team supporting the reporting needs of various terms throughout GBS Shared Services including OTC, RTR and PTP.

This is a global role working across our Shared Services Centers in Costa Rica, Hungary and Scotland.

This role will work along with stakeholders and colleagues to deliver tools, metrics and dashboards.

The objective would be to help prepare Thermo Fisher Scientific to effectively & efficiently scale up to the company’s 2030 vision of becoming a $50B revenue organization

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build partnerships with key stakeholders and provide front line support for business requests from various divisions/groups
  • Working independently, or with functional analysts, to create reports, data sets and mechanisms to provide visibility to business data
  • Be responsible for the diagnosis and support of Power BI reporting solutions, including investigation of data issues, data validation, scalability, balancing and row level security implementation
  • Create and deliver standards on defining, crafting, and documenting reference PBI architecture
  • Identify and provide input to new technology opportunities, including regular Microsoft PBI releases, that will have a positive impact on improving the BI visualization portfolio

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • More than 5+ years’ experience in a BI developer role with a strong understanding of technical, business, and operational process requirements.

Experience:

  • 5-7+ years of working experience in delivering Power BI solutions
  • Accomplished in developing, publishing and scheduling Power BI reports as per the business requirements with a lens for translating data into factual visuals and reports enabling data driven decisions
  • Experience building Cloud BI solutions using AWS as data lake backend sources and Power BI as BI visualization tools
  • 5+ years of working knowledge for key cross functional Operations business processes, with practical experience data management preferred

Knowledge,Skills, Abilities:

  • Expertise in designing DAX queries in Power BI desktop
  • Knowledge of MDX, M Query and Power Query
  • Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries to extract and analyze large volumes of data
  • Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) - Good to have
  • Proven ability to successfully execute implementation of multiple projects at a time and manage priorities
  • Ability to succeed in a fast paced, matrix structured environment
