Job Description

The Automotive Vehicles Test Engineering team is searching for a creative and experienced Software Engineer to help us bring NVIDIA's autonomous vehicle solution out to the world. You will work with hardworking and dedicated multi-functional engineering development teams across various vehicle subsystems to integrate their work into our AV SW platform, while achieving or exceeding all meaningful NVIDIA and automotive standards & guidelines. Your primary role will be to build replay-based tests and tooling that will enable us to test and validate our self-driving technology over millions of virtual miles.

What you will be doing:

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system-level issues that affect the performance and reliability/reproducibility of replay tests.
  • Build and improve tools that automate the testing process, enabling a culture of test-driven development across the company.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, and release to monitor and enforce robust criteria for measuring and gating releases.
  • Design, develop, and maintain software infrastructure and tooling for regression monitoring and measuring the behavior and performance of autonomous driving systems.
  • Provide concrete insights from analysis to improve the quality of new features.
  • Create/Lead and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualization tools that allow others to understand software performance.
  • Contribute to improve the overall process, quality of products

What we need to see:

  • BS (or equivalent experience), MS, or higher degrees in Engineering or Science field.
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in the field of simulation, autonomous systems, robotics, artificial intelligence or related areas.
  • Proficiency in Python (highly preferred), C++ or similar high-level programming languages.
  • Experience working with large datasets, SQL
  • Experience with source control like git, Gerrit
  • Strong design, coding, analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and test-driven development.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in situations with high ambiguity and competing priorities.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with scaling the use of autonomous vehicles simulation frameworks.
  • Good at Bazel, Docker, Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML systems, or AI-native systems
  • Having Experience in large-scale simulation for hardware or software validation of any robotics solution.
