Job Description

We are seeking an energetic, hardworking Principal Machine Learning engineer to develop key features for our autonomous driving platform. In this role, you will apply machine learning to a mix of planning, prediction and control problems. You will develop innovative ML solutions for NVIDIA’s next-generation automotive products. What you'll be doing:

  • Research, implement and evaluate deep-learning-based methods for planning and prediction in Autonomous Vehicles.
  • Design, run, and analyze experiments to evaluate the efficiency of our solutions on real-world data.
  • Own projects and lead engineering teams crafting new designs and implementations from early concept to productization.
  • Collaborate with system software engineering specialists to integrate ML solutions into the system and ship industrial strength ML models.

What we need to see:

  • MS or PhD level education in Engineering or Computer Science with a focus on Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • 12+ years of practical experience applying machine learning to address real-world problems
  • Strong Python programming experience with software design skills.
  • Experience with deep neural network training, inference and optimization in leading frameworks (e.g. Pytorch, Tensorflow, TensorRT)
  • Practical software engineering experience, developing for large and complex systems.
  • Excellent understanding of the mathematical foundations of machine learning and deep learning
  • Self-motivation combined with team spirit and the urge to learn new things and tackle hard problems.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

We definitely want to hear from you if you are an upbeat contributor with a background that includes one or more of the following:

  • Experience in applying deep learning to prediction and planning problems for autonomous vehicles
  • Prior experience with techniques in reinforcement learning or optimal-control
  • Experience with GPGPU programming (CUDA)
  • Publications at international relevant conferences (CVPR, NeurIPS, ICRA, etc)
