Life Cycle Service Engineer, Process Performance-Digital

In this role you will be responsible for applying IT (Information Technology) knowledge and expertise to help solving complex technical or professional activities. We are looking for a Process Performance software lifecycle service engineer in process control and optimization to help us service and maintain Process Control solutions, expert optimization solutions for the industries. Process Performance software, like different OPT800 and Expert Optimizer, are a key cornerstone of industrial digitalization and our business and investments are rapidly growing in this area.

This position reports to

Digital Solution Engineering Manager

Your responsibilities

  • Delivering service in direct contact with customer or through remote connection, maintaining the best performance of the installed solution using tuning/modeling techniques, process understanding and dialog with customer
  • Implementing changes to the software to fit the process needs and carry ad hoc customer training
  • Build and present performance report to customer and provide advice when needed
  • Supporting the Process Performance project team in delivering Advanced Process Control solution
  • Continuous improvement: bring up feedback or bugs from the field to the organization to help us drive software development
  • Use you understanding of the customer’s challenges and pain points to help us drive the service offering

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial process control, Automation, Process engineering, Data science required
  • 2 years of related experience in delivering support or service on control solution in the industry preferred
  • Knowledgeable in the digital, OT (Operational Technology), ET, IT ecosystem
  • Understanding of the challenges of process industries like Cement, Pulp and Paper or Metal is a plus
  • Reporting and presentation skills are appreciated
  • Spanish native, additional language is a plus
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
  • Ability to travel regionally is required
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
