In this role as Senior Data Scientist & Machine Learning (ML) Engineer (m/f/d) you will be responsible for delivering and implementing analytics strategy in one or more functional areas in alignment with business stakeholders. You will leverage knowledge of advanced analytics to make business impact, build and maintain statistical and machine learning models that turn operational data points into insights and actions. Furthermore, you will build, operate and maintain associated infrastructure to deploy those models by driving data-driven strategy and decision making for predictive analytics and optimization by leveraging AI and ML. This position will be located in one of our prime locations (Germany / Netherlands).

Your responsibilities

• Developing and fostering of data-driven strategies and decision making
• Possessing reasonable knowledge and experience in one or more areas of specialization covering data science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, data visualization, and big data
• Helping to identify possible use cases and implementing analytics projects from scheduling, sourcing customer data, modeling, and its deployment
• Operating, reviewing, optimizing, and maintaining data infrastructure
• Creating innovative AI / ML models, thinking up original ways to collect data, developing new tools, and novel ways to present and visualize data to communicate the results
• Collaborating within the team to share knowledge, experience, and insights as well as guiding and mentoring less experienced colleagues
• Staying abreast with new techniques and practices in Data science, AI / ML modelling, Big Data and Analytics
• Helping to provide in-depth insight to business questions developing hypotheses using data insights to visualize and assisting customers to make right decisions
• Participating in development of Intellectual Property (IP) and pursuing development of patentable ideas in own areas of specialization to gain competitive and strategic advantage

Your background

• At least three years of experience in a similar role, preferably working with development, packaging and operating data pipelines and infrastructure
• Sound experience in coding with at least one data science language and framework, preferably python and practical experience with solutions deployed end-to-end
• A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies
• A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong English written and spoken communication skills
• A Master degree in Computer Science with focus in data management, data analytics, data science, or AI/ML, a PhD is a plus, alternatively a degree in any other relevant field with experience in data science
