THE OPPORTUNITY

This position works out of our location in Wiesbaden (Abbott GmbH) in the Abbott Diabetes Care division that is focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions.

As the SENIOR DATA EXPERT (M/F/D) you will be part of the EMEAP Business Operations Team and responsible for the stability and availability of all our business platforms, to ensure the best digital experiences for our customers. You drive the strategic planning of product development and processes that ensures efficient scalability and speed. Doing so, customer value creation is at the forefront of everything you do.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Applying sophisticated statistical methodologies and analytics techniques to dissect extensive datasets, uncovering actionable insights and patterns that drive key business strategies
  • Creating meaningful connections between large, complex data sets and employ advanced data mining techniques to explore and uncover nuanced insights into customer behavior patterns and trends
  • Designing, developing, deploying, and optimizing data environments, integrations, and data pipelines using AWS (Amazon Web Services) or Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate) ensuring seamless data extraction, transformation and loading processes. (ETL)
  • Own data science initiatives by designing experiments, creating ML models, and deploying AI driven solutions to enhance our understanding of complex business challenges.
  • Maintain and generate Python-based scripts, notebooks, API integrations etc. to support data development processes. Automate these processes where possible.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science and Software Engineering or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in data analysis, modeling, and machine learning with a specialized focus on customer behavior analysis
  • In-depth expertise in data mining techniques, including clustering, classification, anomaly detection with the passion for uncovering hidden insights within complex datasets.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL and Python
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) stack: Glue, S3, EMR, Lambda, Athena, RDS etc.
  • Experience with developing and supporting solutions that address a range of business needs including workflows, forms, collaboration sites, dashboards, and document management tools such as Microsoft 365, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps etc.
  • Ability to consume data from a variety of sources (RDBMs, APIs, FTPs, and other cloud storage) & formats (CSV, Excel, XML, JSON)
  • Ability to distill complex data findings into actionable recommendations with a general understanding of concepts of customer experience
  • Excellent communicational skills in English
