Job Description

You will be working as Senior Scientist and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for BA Function Technology division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Department Lead and will be responsible for contributing significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product or solution development as well as associated IP by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions. Using unique technical knowledge to oversee development tasks. Acting as the first line contact in R&D or SW development or product engineering for the specific product related issues and maintenance.

Your responsibilities

• Identifying use cases and requirements gathering for data-driven solutions in cooperation with ABB’s business divisions and end customers
• Researching technologies in sensing, data provisioning and edge computing layers for process automation business
• Investigating system architectures, secured industrial connectivity solutions and software engineering approaches for secured embedded systems
• Developing system infrastructure for deploying predictive and prescriptive data analytics models on embedded software systems
• Performing data exploration, pre-processing, analysis and developing prototypes and providing support for pilot evaluation and productization of solutions

Your background

• Ph.D. or M.Tech or M.S. from a reputed University in Electronics & Communication Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering with a good publication record
• Minimum 2 to 7 years of relevant experience with Ph.D. or 5 to 10 years of relevant experience with Master’s degree
• Proficiency in embedded software systems and architecture
• Having exposed to virtualization in Embedded Systems and preferably exposed to basics of statistical analysis and machine learning
• Proficiency in interacting secured embedded platforms with industrial data from physical devices, sensors, actuators and PLCs
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with internal and external partners including academic community
