As Service Development Engineer DC charger Hardware, you will become the expert on the software functionality for DC charging and related systems. Especially focusing on the serviceability aspects. This means bridging internal (R&D, Product management, Testers, Interoperability) and external (Local service organizations, Customers) stakeholder knowledge into product improvements. You will be part of the Global Service Engineering Team in Delft, which consists of >10 employees. Your team members are based in different parts of the world (part of the team is based in Delft), bringing a diverse set of cultures and skills. The team has a drive for collaboration, focus, responsibility and transparency. We will deliver excellent customer service by meeting customers’ needs, while maintaining good relationships with customer.

Your responsibilities

  • Become the expert on the software side of serviceability for DC charging systems.
  • Connect with internal (R&D, Product management, Testers, Interoperability team) and external (Local service organizations, Customers) stakeholders to collect requirements.
  • Translate requirements into practical service execution.
  • Inspect products on practical service possibilities.
  • Propose design improvements on serviceability .
  • Support Customers in their ability to operate charging sites and networks.
  • Actively participate in improvement for chargers and services.
  • Offer advice on complex problems based on data obtained from our cloud connected service systems.
  • Keep a close eye on the rollout and performance of chargers.
  • Act as an expert. Be the knowledge base to and maintain solutions for the local service teams.
  • Write instructions and manuals to inform and train our local service staff.
  • Go into the field yourself when the situation requires expert level investigation.

Your background

  • You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Data Science, Engineering, IT, Business Intelligence or similar experience
  • You are interested in all aspects of the software side of charging infrastructure for systems ranging from 20kW- 500 kW for the mobility of the future.
  • Knowledge of Linux systems and software development.
  • Understanding of multiple programming languages.
  • You are able to work independently and proactively.
  • You are solution-oriented and like to find sustainable solutions.
  • You are eager to learn and ready to develop technical skills within this area.
  • You have good communication skills towards both external and internal parties.
  • You are capable of working in multidisciplinary teams and you have excellent knowledge of the English language both speaking and in writing.
  • Preferably also knowledge of Dutch and one or more other languages.
  • Willing to travel if the occasion requires.
  • Occasionally be available outside normal office hours.
