Roles and Responsibilities:

As an Senior Systems Engineer, you will leverage and grow your systems engineering expertise to provide support across a variety of system development lifecycles, through the design, implementation, and integration of enterprise systems and system-of-systems for federal agencies. Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Apply cutting edge methods and tools (such as Model-Based Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Analytics) to assess designs, identify, and mitigate performance constraints and gaps, evaluate proposed changes, and support verification and test, to solve problems that make the world a safer place.
  • Advising government leaders in defining the context, problem space and vision to determine capabilities, priorities, road maps, and technology needs using modern system engineering approaches.
  • Supporting requirements management and analysis, interface management, architecture development and test and evaluation processes.
  • Independently conducting qualitative and quantitative systems engineering analyses that can be translated into actionable recommendations for federal agencies.
  • Leading small teams of systems engineers to develop data-driven products to support government decision making.
  • Participation in internal and external research opportunities in cutting edge engineering fields.
  • Applying, systems engineering skills to drive a holistic approach to systems development and design.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have active Secret (or higher) clearance for consideration
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or relevant technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience
  • Experience in Systems Engineering tools such as: MagicDraw, Cameo Enterprise Architecture, Rhapsody, Stella, iThink, Anylogic, Systemitool, or relevant SE design tools.
  • Proven ability to work independently to learn and apply new System Engineering/MBSE technologies, techniques, processes, languages, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference given to qualified candidates holding current / active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop a trusted advisor relationship with senior leaders, and effectively communicate and collaborate with multiple engineering/program disciplines with proven success in working across organizational boundaries to deliver results.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or relevant technical discipline.
  • Proven ability to lead development and delivery of data-driven systems engineering products.
  • Experience in leading small teams of engineers to deliver high quality systems engineering products.
  • Experience extending capabilities of systems engineering tools to provide tailored solutions to system requirements, design, and test activities.
  • Experience with advanced model-based systems engineering methods, processes and tools.
  • Experience working with Government preferred, but experience working on system development and design projects in other academic and industry environments will be considered.
