This is the intersection of Systems Engineering and Data Science!
MITRE’s Systems Engineering Analytics department seeks highly motivated Systems Engineers who are passionate about identifying, developing and applying new technologies that can address the Government's most challenging technical problems.
As our new engineer you will have the opportunity to leverage and grow your engineering expertise by :
- Working with users to design and build prototypes to explore solutions to complex problems.
- Evaluating / comparing alternative architectures using qualitative and quantitative techniques; exploring large tradespaces.
- Hands on technical skills will be used to cleanse / scrub data in advance of using it for statistical analysis and data visualization products.
- Use the custom developed data visualization products to illustrate cost – benefit analysis of various options for our sponsors.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a US government clearance.
- Fluent in one or more high-level languages (e.g., Python Java, C#/.NET)
- Experience with modern software methodologies (e.g., Agile/Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
- Strong working knowledge of modern development tools (Ansible, Git, Gitlab, Jira, Bitbucket, etc)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in applicable major.
- Preference given to qualified candidates w/ active clearance.
- Familiarity with data mining, neural networks & IoT.
