Job Description
Job responsibilities:
- Serve as Direct Supervisor (DS) and provide overall leadership for group members that facilitates the professional and career development of group team members through positive leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
- Department and Staff Engagement: Staff mentoring, staff development and recognition; assessing staff performance and providing constructive feedback through regular performance and development conversations
- Engagement with department, work leaders, project leaders, and task leaders to obtain performance feedback and to improve staff interactions
- Provide timely and regular feedback to staff on performance and goal development
- Technical Quality/Execution/Capability Development: Participate as a member of the Department leadership team in workforce crafting, work program development, and maintaining awareness of emerging technical issues and opportunities
- Work to drive integration and coherence of project work efforts to improve mission impact
- Build and maintain technically proficient staff within the department and division
- Skill needs assessment and Department shaping: Participate with Department management team, technical and business leads and project leaders to identify skill gaps, development needs, strategies to evolve staff capabilities, and recruitment/retention of highly qualified staff
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Cyber, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Cyber Ops experience, knowledge of Agile development, Modeling & Simulation, Zero Trust
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, communication, and briefing skills to interact with team members and sponsors
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Cyber Defense capabilities, Digital Engineering, DevSecOps, Analytics / Data Science, including one or more of the following languages and/or data visualization tools
- Knowledge and application of modeling and simulation and analysis software tools such as AFSIM
- Familiarity with advance infrastructure such as Cloud, Hyper Converged Infra, SDWAN, etc.
- Knowledge of software development best practices and version control software such as Git.
