The Architecture Analytics Department has a new opportunity for a motivated, creative Data Engineer with documented success applying cutting edge tools and techniques to challenging problems facing the US government. As a member of our Architecture Analytics Department you will work on multiple projects, cross-pollinate good ideas across the government and continuously learn. Responsibilities will include:

• Design, develop, and implement semantic data annotation, integration, and search technologies in the context of interagency, multi-domain, multi-fabric Data Harmonization and multi- cloud compute environment.
•  Work with a spectrum of government sponsors to gain understanding of their challenges, evaluate possible solutions and conduct insightful, actionable analyses.
• Support the development and application of a variety of analytical models to sponsor challenges, with a willingness to adapt and learn.
• Present results in an intuitive, actionable manner that can be understood by all sponsor audiences, regardless of technical expertise. 
• Lead the creation and maintaining of a repository of software code and scripts (e.g. Java and Python), for rapidly extracting, transforming, and loading a variety of structured and unstructured data source
• Examine and assess commercial-off-the-shelf, government-off-the-shelf, and open-source software for their viability to extract objects (e.g. entities, events, documents, and relationships) from structured and unstructured data and multimedia (e.g. exif)
• Examine and assess commercial-off-the-shelf, government-off-the-shelf, and open-source software for their viability to transform entities, and the apply general data cleansing, transformation, an augmentation methods.
• Mentor junior staff

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
• Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining & maintaining a US government clearance.
• 8 + documented success employing Content Semantics (controlled vocabularies, ontology, taxonomy, metadata, schemas etc.).
• Familiarity with content Structure (content modeling, markup, schema, DITA, XML)
• Knowledge and application of the content semantics and structure principles.
• Hands in experience with Web Ontology Language (OWL), RDF and SPARQL and related technologies. 
• Build, design, develop an understanding of the application of semantics principals at abstract, architecture, and in some case at the very tactical applied levels within enterprise knowledge and customer experience delivery environments.
• Construct/Re-construct data provided in XML, delimited text, email (e.g. eml, mbox, pst), and a variety of database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Apply semantic data modeling techniques to classify, aggregate, and generalize data stored in hierarchical, network, or relational database management systems to define the meaning of data within the context of its interrelationships with other data
• Design physical database management systems to represent semantic data models, including relational and object-relational Databases (e.g. NoSQL, SQL Server, MySQL), Key value stores, Inverted Indexes (Lucene, Elastic Search), and distributed file systems
• Experience formally evaluating and assessing commercial-off-the-shelf, government-off-the-shelf, and open-source software for their viability and adaptability.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in applicable technical field
• Preference given to qualified candidates with active clearance
